Quality aesthetic design is essential to any product. However, aesthetics remain difficult to quantitatively measure, and therefore preference for different aesthetics can be difficult to capture in discrete choice tasks. Utilizing manipulations in a residual embedding space spanning 500 product categories and 2,710 adjectives, we introduce a workflow that allows for quantitative measurement of abstract aesthetic properties. This allows for concrete measurement of aesthetic preference in conjoint analysis and other discrete choice tasks.
